Obituaries » James W. Reedy Share your Memorial with Family & Friends James William Reedy, 78, of Equinunk, PA, died on Monday, October 3 rd at his home. Born on February 14, 1938 in New York City, he was the son of the late James Patrick Reedy and Catherine Hess Reedy. After residing in Vernon, NJ for 40 years, he retired in 2000 and moved permanently to his beloved Pennsylvania retirement property. He served in the United States Air Force as an Airman Second Class from 1958-1962. He was a train conductor for NJ Transit, Conrail and Erie Lackawanna rail companies for 38 years. He is survived by his daughter Jamie Reedy and husband Steven of Cranford, NJ; son Jay Reedy of McAfee, NJ; daughter Jill Lindner and husband James of Sparta, NJ; sister Eleanor Gore of New York City; 2 granddaughters and 2 grandsons; and one niece and one nephew. As per his request, cremation will occur without a prior wake. A private family celebration of life will be held at his home. Arrangements by Hessling Funeral Home, Inc., 428 Main St. Honesdale. He was an avid supporter of law enforcement, and donations may be made in his honor to the Pennsylvania Sheriffs’ Association.
