James Floyd Cole, 75, of Prompton, died on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at Regional Hospital of Scranton.

Born on October 13, 1940 in Lookout, PA, he was the son of the late Lindsay Arbec and Ruth Myrtle Rake Cole. He served in the US Air Force during peacetime, stationed in San Antonio, TX where he was a crash and rescue fire fighter.

James made a career as a plumber before retiring. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Surviving are his children Lisa Irwin and husband Randy of Trophy Club, TX and Floyd Cole and wife Barbara of Prompton; his siblings Lindsay “Sonny” Cole and wife Grace, William Cole and wife Betty, Linda Keesler and husband Phillip, John Cole and wife Anna, Donna Haber and husband Steve, Russell Cole, Patricia Wintermute and husband Tom, Michael Cole and wife Diana and Thomas Cole; grandchildren Kelly Irwin, Missy Meyers, Michael Irwin and Brandon Cole; great-grandchildren Ryder Cole Meyers, Gabriel Alessio Irwin, Roderick Wayne Meyers and Hank Dean Irwin.

He was preceded in death by his sister Shirley Lewis and brother Edward “Bub” Cole; his granddaughter Laura Cole and great grandson Waylon Knox Irwin.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, Nov. 9th at Hessling Funeral Home, Inc., 428 Main St. Honesdale at 1pm. The family will receive friends on Monday, 11 to service time. As per his request, cremation will follow.

Memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association, 5455 N. High St. Columbus, OH 43214.
