James “Bob” Robert Perry, 81, of Honesdale, died on January 24, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Shirley J. Reifler on July 24, 2008. The couple married on April 16, 1955.

Born September 18, 1935 in Canaan Township, he was the son of the late Lester and Mary Reilly Perry. He was a graduate of Honesdale High School and began working at Sherman Mills. He was later employed at American Cyanamid Co. (Lederle Laboratories) in Pearl River, NY where he was a lab technician. He retired in 1998.

Bob was a faithful member of the Tabernacle Bible Church in Honesdale. He was known for his well kept yard and enjoyed bowling.

Surviving are his daughters Deborah Rollison and husband Charles M. of Cherry Ridge, Sarah Richter of Honesdale and Barbara Cole and husband Floyd of Prompton; sisters Jeanette Brussells and Kathryn Corcoran both of Honesdale; grandchildren Chuck, Rich, Kelly, Abbey, Brandon and Katie; great grandchildren Charlie, Maci, Cody and Landon; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his granddaughter Laura Cole.

Friends may visit at the Tabernacle Bible Church, 455 Grove St. Honesdale on Thursday, Jan. 26th, 4 to 7. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10am by Pastor John Banks of the Tabernacle Bible Church. Private interment will be in Canaan Corners Cemetery in the spring. Arrangements by Hessling Funeral Home, Inc., 428 Main St. Honesdale.

Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association.
