Livsey, 86, of Honesdale, died on Monday, September 16, 2024 at Wayne Woodlands Manor. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph G. Livsey on March 2, 2020. The couple married on September 3, 1960. Born on October 1, 1937, in Honesdale, she was the daughter of the late Andrew C. and Margaret A. (Smith) Weist. She was a graduate of Honesdale Catholic High School and then attended nursing school. She was a registered nurse at Wayne Memorial Hospital before raising her family. Grace later worked at St. John the Evangelist Parish in Honesdale. She was a faithful member of St. John the Evangelist Parish in Honesdale where she was a member of its Altar and Rosary Society. She enjoyed reading, working on cross stitch, crocheting and playing Bingo. On most Sunday afternoons, Grace could be found working on crossword puzzles. Surviving are her daughters, Grace Cogger and husband John of Folsom, PA, Anne Hessling of Lake Ariel and Peggy McDevitt and husband Robert of Tafton; her grandson, who she and Joe raised, Steven Livsey and wife Patty of Waymart; her brothers, Joseph Weist of MD and Andrew Weist and wife Donna of Honesdale; her sisters, Angela Davis of Milanville, Mary Ann Llewellyn and husband Alan of Uniondale and Margaret Daniels of Windber, PA. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Steven Rac, Maggie Fleming and companion Robert Muller, Sara McKenzie, Jessica Gemellaro and husband Jon, Jennifer Hessling and companion Daniel Skelton, Stephanie Sincavage and companion Damien Rigg, and Tyler Sincavage; 11 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Joseph W. Livsey; her grandson, Mark Livsey; her brother, Fred Weist. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, Sept. 23rd at St. Mary Magdalen Church, Honesdale at 10 am. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Friends may visit Hessling Murray Funeral Home, 428 Main St. Honesdale on Sunday, 2 to 5.
