Gladys (Welsh) Mang, 86, of Honesdale, died on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at Bethany Village. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Edward Mang on August 21, 2004. Born on September 26, 1927 in Tyler Hill, she was the daughter of the late Russell and Roberta Lord Welsh. A graduate of Damascus High School, she later graduated from Empire Beauty School and ran a beauty shop out of her home for several years. She was a very caring person who loved her family. She enjoyed cooking and baking. She is survived by her son Paul Mang and wife Susan of Honesdale, her sister Doris Bryant of Calkins, grandchildren Scott Mang and wife Megan, Andrea Nakielny and husband Eric, Lindsey Pender and husband Timothy, 7 great grandchildren, nieces and a nephew. The family would like to thank the staff of Bethany Village and the Hospice of the Sacred Heart for their special care. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 20th at 4 pm at the First Presbyterian Church of Honesdale. Interment will follow in Bethany Cemetery. The family will receive friends at church on Tuesday, 2 until the time of service. Arrangements by Hessling Funeral Home, Inc., 428 Main St. Honesdale. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, 712 S. Keyser Ave., Taylor, PA 18517 or Hospice of the Sacred Heart, 600 Baltimore Dr. Wilkes Barre, PA 18702.
