Foca, died peacefully on Thursday August 1, 2024 at Ellen Memorial Healthcare Center in her hometown of Honesdale. She was only 73, years of age. She lost her first husband, Peter Sachtleben tragically on January 28, 1977 leaving her a single mother which she took on with strength and abandon. She was also preceded in death by her second husband, Henry E. Foca on December 13, 2022. Born on June 29, 1951 in Paterson, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Harry Willis and Jean (Maronpot) Willis, and was very loved by her step father, Kenneth Van Zutphen. She is predeceased by her brother, Alan Willis. Gail worked at New Jersey Bell. She was an active member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Honesdale until she became unable to participate because of illness. Gail had a fun spirited soul who took on many passions. She found comfort and peace in nature. She loved to hike and would never turn down an opportunity to travel. She was an avid reader, enjoyed listening to music and playing the piano. Her smile was so stunning it would light up a whole room and leave you wondering what mischief she was up to. She is survived by her daughter, Melissa Sachtleben; her sisters, Amy Jean Jaeger of Florida, Bev Perry of Vermont, Elaine Reynolds of Vermont, her brother David Maronpot of Florida, her grandchildren, Pierson Blair, Sabien, Melody and James Thomas; and a great grandson, Grayson Cyrus Blair. She will forever be missed. A celebration of her life and memorial service will be held at a date and time to be announced. Arrangements made by Hessling Murray Funeral Home, 428 Main St. Honesdale.
