Obituaries » Franklin Spry Share your Memorial with Family & Friends Franklin Monroe Spry, 76, of Honesdale, died on March 18, 2014 at Ellen Memorial Health Care Center where he resided. Born on June 13, 1937 in Coudersport, PA, he was the son of the late Frederick George and Marion Blow Spry. Franklin was employed at Topps Baseball Cards in Duryea, PA where he was a press operator. He also worked some famous area bands, including Tex Ritter and Timmy and Bits and Pieces. He was an avid Nascar fan enjoying the races. Franklin was a member of the Methodist faith. Surviving are his sons Robert Spry Sr. of Schenectady, NY, Douglas Spry of Hanover, PA and Donald Spry of Edwardsville, PA; his daughters Deborah Snyder of Windsor, NY, Donna Acevedo of Scranton, Theresa Rogowski of Laurel Run, PA and Tammi Lord of Wilkes Barre, PA; his brothers Lester and Frederick Gene Spry both of Binghamton, NY; sisters Violet Henry of Montrose, PA, Mary Alice Lowe of Binghamton, NY and Ruth Ann Langevin of West Haven, CT; his best friend Eleanor Hontz of White Mills, PA; many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brothers Harry and Howard Spry and sisters Frances Hannel and Onnalee Gulie. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 22nd at noon at Hessling Funeral Home, Inc., 428 Main St. Honesdale. The family will receive friends on Saturday, 11 to service time.
