Esther Blanche Stoner, 88, formerly of Jennersville, PA, died on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at Ellen Memorial Health Care Center in Honesdale, PA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan Stoner in 1997.

Born on October 9, 1932 in Downingtown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Frank Whitely and Grace (Reynolds) Whitely.

Over the years, Esther worked as a waitress and hostess for several restaurants, most recently at Whitely’s Little Cafe. She retired from DeLaney’s Trucking where she was a secretary. She enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her dog Spooky.

Surviving are her daughters Sally Trego of Downingtown, PA, Sue Shupe and husband Tony of Conowingo, MD and Linda Ahn and husband John of Lake Ariel; a brother Robert Whitely and wife Carol; a sister Lillian Butler and husband Robert; 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; her niece and nephew April and David Whitely; several other nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son Raymond Young and brothers, Frank, Jack, Raymond and Howard Whitely.

As per her request, private cremation services are being arranged by Hessling Funeral Home, Inc., 428 Main St. Honesdale, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Project Linus c/o Debbie Burgess, 56 Grove Rd., Waymart, PA 18472.
