Obituaries » Emily Curry Share your Memorial with Family & Friends Emily Bridgid Curry, 96, of Honesdale, died on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at home. She was preceded in death by her husband Michael Curry on July 22, 1987. Born in Drumkeerin, Ireland on January 31, 1918, she was the daughter and last surviving member of the Farrell and Katherine O’Brien Gilhooley family. In addition to raising her family, she also worked in health care for many years. Emily was a member of St. John the Evangelist Parish in Honesdale and participated in its Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration Chapel. She is survived by her daughter Mary St. Clair of Honesdale; her sons Martin and Philip Curry both of Los Angeles, CA, Thomas Curry of Honesdale and Patrick Curry of Wilkes Barre; grandchildren Elizabeth Gleim, Scott and Christopher St. Clair; 5 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sons Michael, Joseph and John; her sisters Margaret Neilson, Angela Gilhooley, Anastasia Clausen and Kathleen Brantley; her brothers Pierce, Philip and Oliver; and her son-in-law Patrick St. Clair. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 5th at 10 am at St. John the Evangelist Church, Honesdale. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Honesdale PA.
