Born June 1, 1935 in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late John and Minnie Behrens and beloved wife of Oscar E. Hippensteel, Jr. She was a graduate of Honesdale High School and attended Moore Institute of Art in Philadelphia where she earned a degree in Fashion Design.
Surviving her are three daughters, Leslie Jonas and husband, Ken, Quakertown, PA; Paige Blue and husband, Richard; and Tracy Rush and husband, Mike, all of Southern Pines, NC; two grandchildren, Kelsey and Tyler Jonas; and a sister, Mollie Mandle of Cherry Hill, NJ.
A private graveside service was held at the family’s request in the St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery. Arrangements were made by the Hessling Funeral Home, 428 Main Street, Honesdale, PA.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Dorflinger-Suydam Wildlife Sanctuary, P.O. Box 356, White Mills, PA, Wayne Memorial Health Foundation, 601 Park Street, Honesdale, PA or a charity organization of your choice.
