Edward Joseph “EJ” Robinson III, 55, passed away early on the morning of Sunday, August 2, 2015. He is survived by his wife, the former Linda Vonson. Born in Honesdale, Pa on October 7, 1959, EJ was the son of Edward J. Robinson Jr. of Honesdale and the late Mary Eccles Robinson. He is also survived by his son and daughter, Edward J. IV (Ted) and Claire Robinson of Seattle, Washington. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by LoveShaw in South Canaan, Pa. and in earlier years worked in carpentry and construction.

EJ was known for his sense of humor, love of life, friendliness and kindness to others. He loved his annual trips to Maine where he sat on the “dock of the bay” and referred to himself as Otis Redding. EJ could frequently be found walking on Main Street, often with his two Old English Sheepdogs, Betty Boop and Tahlulah. He treasured his family and was true to tradition, especially at Holidays. He had many, many friends whom he loved and who were an important part of his life. EJ found joy in helping people, be it rides to appointments, picking up lunches, coffee runs, babysitting or whatever made life easier for others.

EJ is also survived by his brothers, Timothy J. and Thomas J (Nancy Howell) Robinson; sisters Mary E. (Michael) Erk and Valerie A. (John) Franceschini; sisters-in-law, Nancy Gillow Robinson, Susan Vonson (Thomas) Meszler; brother-in-law, Robert (Debbi Witkowski)Vonson; aunts, uncles, many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother, Michael J. Robinson and his sister, Kathleen M. Robinson.

A Blessing service will be held on Friday, August 7th at Hessling Funeral Home, Inc., 428 Main St. Honesdale at 10am. Friends may visit on Thursday, 4 to 7.

In lieu of flowers, gifts made be made to the Wayne County Children & Youth Services, 648 Park Street, Suite C, Honesdale, Pa 18431 or to the Dessin Animal Shelter, 138 Miller Drive, Honesdale, Pa 18431.
