Dorothy C. Dudley, 99, of Honesdale, died on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at her home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Dudley on July 3, 1984.

Born on September 11, 1915 in Hawley, she was the daughter and last surviving member of the John and Augusta Hertel Garrity family. She was a graduate of Hawley High School and immediately began working at Sherman Mills and later Amber Lingerie where she was a forelady.

Dottie was a member of St. John the Evangelist Parish in Honesdale where she was a former Eucharistic Minister and a member of its Altar and Rosary Society. She was a former member of the Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration Chapel and a member of the Court St. Martin, Catholic Daughters of the Americas.

Dorothy is survived by several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her sisters Gertie Garrity, Mildred McConnell, Mary Woliski, Anna Atkinson and Leona Benjamin; her brothers William, Charles, John and Frederick Garrity.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 13th at St. Mary Magdalen Church, Honesdale at 10 am. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Friends may visit Hessling Funeral Home, Inc., 428 Main St. Honesdale on Sunday from 3 to 5.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. John the Evangelist Parish, 414 Church St. Honesdale, PA 18431 for St. Mary Magdalen Church.
