Obituaries » Doris A. Bates (Davis) Share your Memorial with Family & Friends Doris A. Bates, 86, passed away October 10, 2021 at Wayne Memorial Hospital after a short illness. She was born to Duane and Pearl(Kennedy) Davis in Waymart, PA on June 2, 1935. Doris was preceded in death by her late husband Lester C. Bates and three sisters Sandy Robinson, Romaine Maybe and Alberta Podunajec. She is survived by a sister Marilyn Podunajec of Waymart, PA. Doris is also survived by her children Susan Loring and Philip Bates; grandchildren Rebecca Brown, Timothy Loring and Jessica Loring all of Honesdale. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews. A private family service was held at East Dyberry Cemetery on October 14, 2021. Arrangements by Hessling Funeral Home, Inc., 428 Main St. Honesdale.
