Donald “Doc” Totten, 64, of Honesdale, passed away on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at his home after a long courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, the former Kathleen Bryant. The couple married on July 17, 1982.

Born on August 17, 1956, he was the son of the late Elaine Smith.

He worked for over 35 years for Dirlam Brothers Lumber and in his younger years he worked for Watson Brothers in Hawley and Bob Lloyd Chevrolet-Cadillac in Honesdale as a mechanic.

He enjoyed spending time in his garage and looked forward to friends stopping in to visit. He liked working on old cars and was especially fond of “68” Chevelle’s. In past years he liked going to Pocono Raceway to see Dale Earnhardt Sr. race. He also liked to watch the Mecum Car Auctions on tv.

In addition to his wife Kathy, he is survived by his brother-in -law Robert Kaffka of Honesdale; sisters-in-law Nancy Wirts and husband Rich of Vandling and Sandi Winter of New Jersey; nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his sister Donna Kaffka and his two dogs Buffy and Toby.

Doc’s family would like to thank the nurses of Wayne Memorial Home Health and Hospice for being kind and compassionate while caring for him.

Friends may visit Hessling Funeral Home, Inc., 428 Main St. on Friday, Feb. 12th, 3 to 6. All attending are asked to wear a mask and be brief when paying their respects to maintain social distancing. Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of his family.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Dessin Animal Shelter, 138 Miller Dr. Honesdale, PA 18431.
