Donald Charles McCann, Jr., 53, of Lake Ariel, died on Thursday, December 8, 2016 at his home.

 

Born on September, 8, 1963 in Scranton, he is the son of Donald and Helen Theobald McCann with whom he resided.  He was a graduate of Honesdale High School, class of 1981.  Don attended Penn State University and later Keystone College where he became certified in Food Service Sanitation.  Don worked at Cove Haven for 29 years as a receiving clerk.

 

He was a model train enthusiast.  He was also an avid reader, especially World War II history.  Don enjoyed hunting and cheering for the New York Giants.

 

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sister Colleen McCann of Lake Ariel; his aunt Jean Theobald; uncles Jack Theobald and wife Pauline and Merlin Mang; several nieces and nephews.

 

He was preceded in death by his aunt, Marion Mang.

 

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 14th at St. Mary Magdalen Church, Honesdale at 10am.  Interment will follow in Indian Orchard Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday, 4 to 7 at Hessling Funeral Home, Inc., 428 Main St. Honesdale.
