Peggy, I was shocked to hear of Dave's passing. I always enjoyed listening to Dave. He had a good sense of humor and a contagious laugh. I'll miss meeting you at the Martin Guitar factory. In addition to Dave being a really smart "cookie" and funny I enjoyed listening to him play his guitar. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you, Billy and Kathleen, Love, Joan
Dear Peggy, and Family: I am saddened to hear about Dave's passing. I hope you all can focus on the many happy memories. One of my favorites was the laughter when we visited with you on the lake, as Dave and I listened to WXPN and I laughed so hard I was in tears. Peace and Love to you all. Byron
Dear Peg and family, Sorry to hear of Dave's passing. If there is any way that I can help, feel free to let me know. Jack Lyons
I first met Dave in 1988 I think. I was working at GE Space division in King off Prussia (Valley Forge) and Dave was at GE Re-Entry Systems in Philadelphia. We had an internal job posting in Comm Engineering and roughly 12 people applied, I threw away about half and brought the remaining 6 in for interviews. Dave was the last one. Shows up looking like a slob, shirt tail hanging out, etc. He got the job. Smart, practical, broad knowledge, no BS and just honest and down to earth. Did I say Smart? In 1996 I took a job in the Poconos at an AT&T satellite station. About a year later, hired Dave again. The family would come up on weekends, stay with me, and we would drive around looking for property. We somehow stumbled on the 15 acres with a For Sale sign and the rest is history. We became best friends. We will have a QSO again some day.
Will miss my baby brother so much. Hope you are resting peacefully. I will always love you and you will always be in my heart. Your "perfect" big sister,Lynnie.
My daughter Mary was a Physics student in Dave's class at PSU Scranton and praised his teaching skills. She said that actually learned the material thanks to Dave. As a groundskeeper I always enjoyed our conversations and his humorous stories. When all the students say take Professor McDowell, then one would definitely know Dave had a gift to teach. Our hearts and prayers are with your family. mike
