Daniel F. Tennant, 72, of Honesdale, died on March 14, 2026 at Julia Ribaudo Extended Care Center in Lake Ariel. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Vera Daugherty on May 17, 2009. The couple married on June 10, 1993.

Born on June 29, 1953 in Honesdale, he was the son of the late Ellsworth and Helen (Wesolowski) Tennant.

Daniel enjoyed a diverse career, working in various trades before retiring as a custodian for the Wayne Highlands School District. His dedication and hard work were evident in all that he did. Known for his kind spirit and great sense of humor, he was a dependable friend and neighbor, always ready to lend a helping hand.

A member of the F.O.E. Aerie 1858 in Honesdale, Daniel cherished the camaraderie and friendships he formed there. He had a passion for playing pool in his younger years, competing in various leagues, but in his later years, he found joy in simpler pleasures, such as reading the newspaper and spending time with his beloved grandsons.

He is survived by his daughter, Danielle Haney and husband Barry, of Unadilla, NY; his sisters, Arlene Curtis of Oregon and Brenda Tennant of North Carolina; his grandchildren, Calvin Rhett, Payton and Pierce Haney.

He was preceded in death by his son, Callie D. Tennant and his brother, Gerald Tennant.

Following cremation, the family will receive friends on Friday, March 27th at Hessling Murray Funeral Home, 428 Main St. Honesdale from 4 to 7.
