Christopher James Evans, 31, of Honesdale, died on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at Wayne Memorial Hospital following injuries sustained from an accident.

Born on December 1, 1989 in Honesdale, he is the son of Frank James and Lisa Marie (Hattler) Evans. Chris was a 2008 graduate of Honesdale High School and then attended Universal Technical Institute.

At a young age he began working at his family owned business, B & B Dodge in Honesdale. He later worked at Scranton Dodge and was currently employed at Rutledge Excavating Inc., as a mechanic.

Chris was always known as “the life of the party.” He looked forward to spending time with family and friends. He looked forward to going for rides on his Harley Davidson. Throughout his life accomplishments, he’s the most proud of being the father to his 2 year old daughter, Emery.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his daughter Emery Lynn Evans; his brother Geoffrey Evans and Nicole Daniels of Honesdale; his maternal grandmother Susan M. Springer of Honesdale; his paternal grandfather John R. Evans of Carbondale.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Gary L. Hattler and paternal grandmother, Eva Marie Furk and uncle, Glenn Evans.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 25th at St. John the Evangelist Church in Honesdale at 10 am. Interment will follow in St. John’s Cemetery. Friends may visit Hessling Funeral Home, Inc., 428 Main St. Honesdale on Thursday, 5 to 8.
