Charlotte Irene Johannes, 80, of Honesdale, died on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at Wayne Woodlands Manor surrounded by her children. She was preceded in death by her husband Milton Johannes in 1986. The couple married on November 28, 1953. Born October 22, 1933 in Honesdale, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Irene Davis Stinnard. She was a graduate of Honesdale High School and later worked at Katz Underwear Factory, Rite Aid and the Miracle Market. In 2003 she retired from Allied Services. Charlotte was an active member of St. John the Evangelist Parish in Honesdale where she had served as a Eucharistic Minister. She also was a member of the Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration. The family would like to thank Cindy Williams for her care and friendship, along with Commonwealth Hospice nurses and nurses aids and the staff at Wayne Woodlands Manor. Surviving is her son Lynn Johannes and wife Joy of Honesdale; daughters Lisa Coons and husband Tom of Waymart and Kellie Shannon and companion Jennifer Serge of Honesdale; a brother Garold “Sonny” Stinnard of Boyertown, PA; 6 grandsons and 2 great grandsons; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers Floyd, Edward, Eugene and Lester; an infant brother Donald; a sister Margaret Lawrence. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 18th at noon at Hessling Funeral Home, Inc., 428 Main St. Honesdale. The family will receive friends from 10 to service time. Private interment will be in Darling Cemetery at the convenience of her family.
