Catherine Thonnesen, 72
Catherine Thonnesen was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.  She left this world peacefully on November 12, 2021 at age 72. Her beloved husband, Arnold Thonnesen, preceded her in death on October 11, 2003.
Catherine was born November 24, 1948, in Brooklyn, New York, to Margaret Russo and William Allegretti.
Cathy enjoyed taking care of her family and devoted 32 years of her life caring for her disabled son, Jamie. She was most proud of being a grandmother and loved every moment spent with her two grandchildren. Cathy enjoyed spending time with family and friends and dining at restaurants whenever she had the chance.
Surviving is her daughter Margaret (Meg) Murphy and husband George of Waymart; grandchildren Teagan and Trista Murphy; her brothers William Allegretti and wife Mary of Clayton, Delaware and Dominic Caturano and wife Madeline of Holbrook, NY; sister Mary Reidy of Medford, NY; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son James Amico and her brother Phil Allegretti.
A memorial mass will be held Saturday, November 20, 2021 at 10:00 at St. Mary’s Magdalen, Church St. Honesdale.
Interment will follow at Indian Orchard Cemetery and then a luncheon at Ticks Tock Restaurant, Terrace St. Honesdale.  Donations can be made to Dyberry Day Camp, PO Box 1121 Honesdale or Arc of Wayne County, PO Box 1121 Honesdale.
