Dear Mary, Ruth, Nick, Marty, Kenny, Eddy and Jeff, It is with a sad heart that we acknowledge the passing of your beloved Catherine (Cate). We are sad for all of you but know that Cate is now at peace with the Lord. It is difficult to lose someone so close at this time of the year, but at the same time, it is the time of the Hope of Salvation for all of us with the birth of the Christ Child. Mary, as a mother your heart has to be shattered into a million pieces), losing a child is the last thing that we ever want to have happen in our lives. Why? Only God knows why this happens. Cate's infectious smile is just like yours was when I was a little girl and saw you as a middle aged Mom. I saw my Mom struggle with the passing of her son, my brother Jim. She went to the Lord just a bit over ten months later and I am sure that God has blessed Mom, Dad and Jim with eternal life where they are all with each other. I know that someday I will be reunited with them again and I look at that as a consolation for the loss that we all suffer as our families pass on. May you all find peace in your hearts and souls during the holy Christmas Season and in the years to come. I too know what it feels like to lose a sibling. There is a big hole where that person once was. God Bless. In Christmas Love, Joe and Dolores (Nonnenmacher) Hauptfleisch Kirkwood, NY

Cate was an inspiration to all who met her. I am proud to say she was my 2nd cousin. We met about 5 years ago; she was an absolute joy to be with. She loved plants and animals and her family. Her daily inspirational messages on Facebook were holding many of us up when we felt down. Her picture is beautiful and so is her family. We were greeted at her home this past summer, where we met her wonderful husband, and her two kitties. I will really miss Cate. She has made an imprint on my soul that will be with me forever. To her family, please accept our condolences. We pray for all of you at this very difficult time and will be with you prayer at the service, even though we can't be there in person. With hugs and much love, Karlyn Leslie Shedlowski and Bernie Shedlowski

My sincere sympathy to Cate's family. That pic is a beautiful way to remember her...what a smile! Another fellow classmate taken much too young and will be missed by all. RIP my friend.
