Brian Neal Corrigan, 77, of Honesdale and Forest City, PA, passed away Sunday,
March 29, 2026. Born April 16, 1948, in Toms River, NJ, he was the son of John G. and
Pauline S. Corrigan.
A talented musician and songwriter, Brian performed with the New York Rock and Roll
Ensemble, touring coast to coast and appearing at venues including Carnegie Hall and
the San Francisco Opera. He continued to write and produce music throughout his life,
contributing memorable jingles to local institutions such as Van Gorders and The Dime
Bank. Brian also composed the song “Hail! Hail! the Stourbridge Lion!” for the
sesquicentennial celebration. In later years, his songwriting turned toward Christian
devotional music and adaptations of the Psalms.
Brian made Honesdale his home in 1979 and founded Corrigan Painting and Staining in
1980, a business that served the community for decades. He had a lifelong passion for
antique automobiles, especially the streamlined cars of the 1930s and ’40s. As an
armchair historian, he enjoyed documentaries on American history and films about the
life of Jesus—interests that fed his curiosity and deepened his faith. Brian also loved
westerns and history books, and he was an avid traveler who took countless road trips
with family and friends, from boyhood trips to Mexico to drives through the Adirondacks,
New England, Nova Scotia, and Los Angeles, and visits to his childhood home in Toms
River.
A devoted member of St. John’s Parish in Honesdale, Brian’s faith was central to his
life. He frequently offered his time and talents to the parish: attending midweek Mass,
keeping an hour at the Eucharistic Chapel, volunteering at St. Mary’s food pantry,
organizing prayer groups, attending retreats, and participating in prison ministry.
Brian will be remembered for his artistic spirit, generosity, faith, sense of humor, and the
deep love he gave his family and friends.
He is survived by his children Justin, Devin, Heather, Daniel (wife Jessica), and Samuel;
his stepchildren Alissa, Michael, and Gabriel; his brothers Barry (wife Annette), Dennis
(wife Donna), and Peter (wife Carol); and his grandchildren Cole, Natha, Max, Ruby,
Shaela, Isla, Liam, Maeve, Francis May, and Peter. He was preceded in death by his
parents, John and Pauline, and by his brother Jack.
