Beatrice L. Wood, age 88, of Pleasant Mount, died Thursday morning, at Wayne Woodlands Manor in Waymart.

She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Franklin P. Wood, who died on Aug. 8, 2003.

She was born in Carbondale on Nov. 20, 1926. She was the daughter of the late William and Gertrude (Glanville) Clemo.

A housewife and mother, she also worked as a presser for the former Katz Underwear Company for over 40 years until she retired.

She attended the Aldenville Baptist Church.

She loved her peonies and hummingbirds.

She is survived by a son, Ronald Wood, of West Virgina, two daughters Sandra Peterson, of Aldenville and Rosalind Novak and companion Robert Dodge, also of Aldenville; one brother, Richard Clemo, Aldenville; five grandchildren Amber Novak and companion Gary Hazen, of Waymart, Aaron Novak and wife, Marlene, of Tyler Hill, Michelle Wilkom, Long Island, NY; Janine Dodson and husband, Christopher, of Virginia, Tracy Hoffman and husband, Douglas, of Virginia; eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, J. Lester, Raymond, William and Alfred Clemo, one sister, Wilma Trusky, a daughter-in-law Bonnie Wood and grandson Bryan Wood.

As per her request, cremation was held.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 19, at 11 a.m. at the Aldenville Baptist Church by Rev. Gary Gilpin, Pastor.

The ashes will be interred in the Aldenville Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the church from 10 – 11 a.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Aldenville Baptist Church or the Dessin Animal Shelter.
