Arthur C. Meyer, 80 of Beach Lake, died on Sunday April 21, 2024. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Eileen C. Treverton on January 6, 2023. They had been married 57 years.

Born in the Bronx, NY on September 1, 1943, he was the son of the late Frederick and Lilllian (Hager) Meyer. They resided in Fairlawn, NJ and spent his summers at the family cottage in Beach Lake, where he met the love of his life.

He was a body and fender man by trade owning and operating Art’s Auto Body for many years. A dedicated family man, he was ever present to support both his children and grandchildren. One of the greatest gifts he could give his boys was introducing them to hunting, something he greatly cherished (and a tradition they carry on). Art served his community in coaching Katz Indians little league team in the late 70’s and early 80’s. He was also a proud member of the Beach Lake Fire Department for over 25 years.

Upon retirement, he and his wife enjoyed traveling in their motor home to many destinations across the country. He loved talking about their many adventures.

Surviving are daughter, Kathleen and husband David Neenan, Welcome Lake, sons: Kenneth (Boomer) Meyer, Lake Huntington NY, Jeffrey and wife Kim, West Damascus and Shawn and wife Amanda, Welcome Lake. Grandchildren: Brady and wife Lanie Neenan, Riley Neenan, AJ Meyer, Ally and husband Josh LoBasso, Sarah Meyer, Andrea Meyer, Lilly Meyer and Jack Meyer and great granddaughter Ila Neenan. Sister in law Elizabeth Chuprevich, Bethany.

He was preceded in death by brothers in law, Peter Chuprevich, Kenneth Treverton and sister in law, Maureen Treverton.

In accordance with Art’s wishes funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements by Hessling Murray Funeral Home, 428 Main St. Honesdale.
