Anthony John McDevitt, son of Thomas and Theresa McDevitt, passed away at the age of 19 on May 31, 2018. He was born on June 2, 1998 in Honesdale, Pennsylvania. Those who know Anthony, know he’s a generous and gentle soul. His smile, his spirit, his laugh, his voice, and his curiosity warmed and uplifted those fortunate enough to spend time with him. His silly grin and constant sense of humor brightened every room he walked into. He was an old soul, wise beyond his years, and his talents were many. While in high school, Anthony was a three year member of the Honesdale wrestling team, where he became known for his “fatal cradle”. After high school, Anthony began working at the Himalayan Institute where he was a diligent and reliable hard worker. He was also considering going to culinary school while pursuing his passion for music. Whatever Anthony decided to take on, was always attended to and pursued with seriousness and love. We feel incredibly blessed to have experienced his loveliness, his beauty, and his joy during his time here.
Surviving in addition to his parents are his 10 siblings: Joseph (husband of Marysol and children Michael, Angelica, Keara, and Ivy), Theresa, (wife of Greg Weber and children Zoe, and Teddy), Patricia, Michael, Laura, Thomas Jr., Jean Marie (wife of Jonathan Braun and child
Charlotte), Elizabeth, Robert, and Christopher.
