Ann Marie Simons. age 57, of Beach Lake PA passed away on Saturday, March 30th at the Ellen Memorial Health Care Center.  She was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, friend, and teacher.

Ann Marie was born on September 24, 1966, to Margaret Jean (Hessling) Gilhool and the late Harold Gilhool.  She graduated from Honesdale Catholic School, Honesdale High School, and East Stroudsburg University where she earned a degree in early childhood and elementary education.  After college, she began her teaching career in the Wallenpaupack School District where she met and married her husband, Robert Simons on August 1, 1992.

In addition to teaching history, Ann Marie also enjoyed coaching basketball and Forensics where she led students to become State Champions who then qualified to compete at the national level.  She went on to serve as Athletic Director at Wallenpaupack High School and was an active member of PSADA (Pennsylvania Athletic Directors Association).  Ann Marie was also on the Board of Directors of the Honesdale Golf Club and served as President of the Hilltop Village Association.  She was devout in her faith and a member of St.  John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church where she served hours of Eucharistic Adoration.

Ann Marie had an innate ability to always put others first.  Her radiant smile, generous heart and compassionate spirit were always felt. Although we mourn her loss, her legacy of love, service and faith will carry on in the many lives she touched.
