Obituaries » Ann M. Sanderson (Watson) Share your Memorial with Family & Friends Ann M. Sanderson, 92, of Honesdale, died on Monday, May 4, 2026 at Allied Hospice Inpatient Unit in Scranton. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Ancil Sanderson. Born in White Mills at the family home, she was the daughter and last surviving member of the late Ernest S. and Elizabeth (Utegg) Watson family. A dedicated postal carrier, Ann also worked in child care and housekeeping, demonstrating her caring nature and commitment to service. She was known not just as a mother and grandmother to her own family, but to many in the community who felt the warmth of her spirit and kindness. Ann cherished her time spent bird watching, baking, gardening and collecting decorative plates and bells, and she enjoyed wonderful adventures with her siblings, often counting the deer they would see during their rides together. Ann was a woman known for her strong personality. While some may have described her as stubborn, those who knew her understood the depth of her compassion and concern for others. She was always straightforward, and her loved ones knew they could count on her unwavering support. Surviving are her sons, James E. Sanderson of Vestal, NY, Don Macalusco and wife Nancy of Buffalo, NY and Richard Watson; her daughters, Alana Sue Shaw and husband Arthur of NY and Sherry Comfort of Honesdale; her daughter-in-law, Vanessa Day of Golden Valley AZ. She is also survived by her grandchildren, James S. Sanderson and Dorise Kinred, Dustin Masker, Jonathon, Dylan and Lillith Sanderson, Patrick Macalusco, Charlie Shaw, Sara Robinson, Chasity Hewitt, Andrew Devlin, Robin Gilbert and Kendra Angione. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Marvin, Joseph and James Watson and Ruth Shaffer. Following cremation, a celebration of life will be held at a date and time to be announced.
