Ann Bell Parker, age 88, of Honesdale, passed away peacefully at home on July 14, 2016.  Mrs. Parker was the widow of John M. Parker, who died January 27, 2009. The couple was married February 2, 1980 at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, Honesdale.  Mrs. Parker was born August 4, 1927, the daughter of the late Albert and Martha Bell Allenbacher.  She was a graduate of Honesdale High School, class of 1945.  She was employed as an office worker at Katz Underwear Company for 37 years from 1945 to 1982 when she retired.  After John and Ann retired, they traveled extensively –Nova Scotia, Canadian Rockies, Europe, Spain and 2 or 3 times a year to Las Vegas until 2001.  They loved to gamble and were very lucky in winning.  Ann was also a bit of a fashion bug and while her beloved sister, Marie Soete, was still alive, they had a lot of fun shopping together. Ann was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church, Honesdale and a member of the Perpetual Adoration Chapel for many years.  She was an avid reader enjoying mystery novels the best.  She is survived by a stepson, William Parker and his wife Jacqueline of Landenberg, PA; a stepdaughter, Rebecca Edwards of Peckville, PA and a sister-in-law, Sister Mary Magdaline Parker, RSM, of Mercy Center, Dallas, PA.   She is also survived by a beloved sister, Helen Tenbus whom she always said was her “angel on earth.”  Also a niece, Linda McCauley, Sacramento, CA; nephews: Mike Tenbus of Tennessee; Jim, Larry, and Bernie Tenbus of Honesdale; Albert Tenbus and his wife, Sandy of Honesdale and David Soete of Honesdale.  Also four grandchildren.  The family will have a private ceremony to be scheduled at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Wayne County Library, Bethany Library, St. John’s the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, Honesdale or donor’s choice.
