Alfred R. Erhardt, “Papa Blue”, 83, of Honesdale passed peacefully into eternal rest on March 9, 2017.

 

Born January 18, 1934 he was the son of the late Orson & Alice (Henderson) Erhardt.

 

He worked on the family dairy farm and then was employed as a truck driver for many years.

 

He was a member of the Boyds Mills Hunting club.  He enjoyed restoring old “Hit & Miss” engines, tractor pulls, cub cadet garden tractors and Farmall tractors.  His famous quote was “If its not red leave it in the shed”

 

He was preceded in death by his wife Joan M. (Dickhut) Erhardt.  They were married 53 years.

 

Surviving are his children daughter Cindy (Dale) Wilcox of Milanville, daughter Sandy (Tom) Niesen, son Rick (Nancy) Erhardt and daughter Teri (Merv) Iloff.  A sister Norlaine Hook whom he adored, 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, several nephews and nieces.

 

A memorial will be celebrated, Monday, March 13th from 4-7 at the Hessling Funeral Home, 428 Main Street, Honesdale, PA 18431
