Albert Registro

Albert F. Registro, 96 of Honesdale, died on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at Wayne Memorial Hospital. He was preceded in death by his first wife, the former Anna Campanelli on June 23, 1982 and his second wife, the former Helen Bartron on June 6, 1997. Born May 8, 1917 in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late James and Mary Registro. Before retiring, he worked in Brooklyn as a longshoreman. Al was a member of St. John the Evangelist Parish in Honesdale, attending St. Bernard’s Church in Beach Lake where he was a former member of the choir. An avid New York Yankees fan, he also enjoyed music, playing guitar and listening to opera. Surviving is his daughter Marion DeVita of Honesdale; his son Joseph Registro and wife Linda of Boynton Beach, FL; grandchildren Susan DeVita, Joseph DeVita and Lynn Christiansen; his good friend Shirley Golden and 7 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son James Registro and sister Agnes Manutti. As per his request, cremation services are being arranged by Hessling Funeral Home, Inc., 428 Main St. Honesdale. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, Jan. 18th at St. John the Evangelist Church in Honesdale at 10am. The family will receive friends at Holy Family Hall of St. John’s Church from 9 until 10. Interment will be in Pinelawn Cemetery at the convenience of his family.
