Vickie Lee McKenna, 63, of Tafton, PA, died on Sunday, April 23, 2017 at Hospice of the Sacred Heart in Dunmore. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, John McKenna. The couple married on June 16, 1972.

Born on September 14, 1953 in Lake Charles, LA, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Elizabeth Scarlet Merrill. She was a graduate of Roxsbury High School, class of 1971 and later furthered her studies at the County College of Morris for Nursing in Randolf, NJ. She later worked for Prudential Insurance in New Jersey as a claims examiner.

After moving to Pennsylvania she and her husband began Family Pastimes Woodworking and Crafts. Her husband John did the wood cutting and Vickie enjoyed painting. She loved traveling to craft shows, especially going to New England.

Most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Also surviving is her daughter Rebecca Grimaldi and husband Mike of Honesdale; a brother Raymond Michael Merrill and wife Tami of FL; her sisters Lynn Merrill of TN, Kathy Merrill of FL, and Elisabeth Merrill of NY; grandchildren Christoffer, Seth, Anthony, Kathryn and Shane.

She was preceded in death by her son John McKenna in 2011 and a brother Frank Merrill.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 27th at Hessling Funeral Home, Inc., 428 Main St. Honesdale at 4 pm. The family will receive friends on Thursday, 2 until service time. As per her request, cremation will follow.

Memorial contributions can be made to the family to assist with final expenses c/o John McKenna,104 Yellow Pine Ct., Tafton, PA 18464.
