Obituaries » Vernon M. Hansen Share your Memorial with Family & Friends Vernon Michael Hansen, 59, of Archbald, died on Sunday, July 16, 2017 at his home. He is survived by his wife, the former Connie Rae Spittel. Born on August 13, 1957 in Bartow, FL, he is the son of Joan Marie Hansen of Honesdale and the late Richard Cron. Vernon worked for many years at Kaplan Veal in Olyphant where he was a butcher. For a couple of years, he owned and operated a dairy farm in Cherry Ridge. He took great pride in being a farmer caring for the cows. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed the local demolition derbies. Also surviving is his son Peter Hansen and wife Melanie of Damascus; his mother-in-law Joyce Spittel of Millerton, PA; grandchildren Robert Hansen, Evayw Hansen, Makenzye Phillips and Pipper Bonafide; several nieces and nephews. As per his request, cremation was held and there will be no public services.
