Jane A. Weist, of Honesdale, died peacefully at home on Saturday, July 15th after an illness. She and her late husband Fred were married on September 28, 1963.

Born on June 13, 1938 in Bronx, New York, Jane was the daughter of the late Vincent S. and Rita L. (Fisher) Graziadio She is survived by her three children, son John Salvatore and companion Stephanie Payne of Sterling; daughter Susan Roegner and companion Richard Rotundo of Beach Lake; and daughter Annette Shepherd and husband Michael of South Canaan; eight grandchildren, Gregory Salvatore of Milanville; Kyle Salvatore and wife Kaelin (Lopresti) of Honesdale; Thomas, Kaitlyn and Madisyn Roegner; and Rebekah, Jacob and Katherine Shepherd of South Canaan; and two great grandchildren, Carson and Abraham Salvatore.

She is also survived by her brother, Mark Graziadio and his wife Sue, of White Mills, her sister-in-law Joyce Graziadio of Southborough MA, the widow of Jane’s brother Vincent who died in 2000 and their children and grandchildren.

Jane attended Hancock Central High School and after marrying John Salvatore, visited northern Africa and Germany as part of John’s US Air Force deployment. Upon returning to the area and moving to Honesdale with her late husband, she worked at Steve’s Diner, ran the snack bar at the Fairlane Bowlerdrome on Fair Ave., Honesdale, and Sherman Mills in Hawley, before going into business with her late parents as the owners of Vince’s Travelers Inn, in Indian Orchard. After selling the business in 1971, she became a licensed beautician and ran a beauty shop in her home on Tryon Street in Honesdale, and worked at the Miracle Market and then Giant Markets, from which she retired in 1991.

Jane most enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was an avid bowler, enjoyed ceramics, was an Avon representative and volunteered for the Easter Seals. She was a longtime member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Honesdale.

The Funeral Service will be on Friday, July 21st at 10:00 Am at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church at 416 Church Street in Honesdale. Interment will be at St. Mary Magdalen Cemetery immediately following the Mass.

The family wishes to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to Dr. Peterson and the staff at Wayne Memorial Hospital, as well as Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Terri Hood, Rev. William Langan, Rev. Marek Wasilewski and Rev. Richard Beck for their visits, especially during her final days.
