Elaine M. Smith, 82, of Honesdale, died on Monday, May 22, 2017 at Wayne Memorial Honesdale.

Born on July 22, 1934, in Honesdale, she was the daughter of the late Manfred and Dolores McDonald Smith. After graduating high school, Elaine began working at Cordaro’s Restaurant in Honesdale. She later worked at the Hawley Diner, Martone’s, Maple City Restaurant and Trackside Grill.

Elaine enjoyed shopping and spending time with family and friends. She also loved her dog Casey Cocoa Smith. She was a member of the White Mills United Methodist Church.

Surviving is her son Donald “Doc” Totten and wife Kathy of Honesdale; her son-in-law and caregiver Robert Kaffka of Honesdale; her grandson Ron Arnold and wife Dawn of Seelyville; great grandson Seth Arnold; a niece Sherri Lintner.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Donna M. Kaffka and her sister Lois Ann Keesler.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 25th at Hessling Funeral Home, Inc., 428 Main St. Honesdale by Pastor Marge Allgeier at 6 pm. Friends may visit on Thursday, 3 to service time. As per her request, cremation will follow with interment in Indian Orchard Cemetery, Honesdale.
