Carol Emanuelson passed away on February 7th at the home of her son and daughter-in-law Rick and Kathy. Most recently a resident of Aston Gardens, Venice, Florida, Carol was born in Kenmore, New York, to Albert and Marion (Smith) Gilsey. She graduated from Kenmore High School in 1947 and the University of Buffalo School of Business in 1951 with a Bachelor of Science, where she became a lifelong active member of Chi Omega. Carol married Harold “Roy” Emanuelson in 1953. They lived in Tonawanda and Williamsville, New York, where they raised their family of 3 children and where Carol was a dedicated volunteer at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital. Carol and Roy moved to enjoy retirement in Venice, Florida in 1995, and were active members of the Southwood community, Jacaranda West Country Club and Trinity Presbyterian Church.

Carol is survived by her children Richard and Kathleen Emanuelson, Randall and Cathy Emanuelson, Debra and Arthur Hair; her grandchildren Kristin (Matt), Steven (Ashley), Karin, Kelsey (Ryan), Marian, her mother Nancyann, Kaleigh (Kevin), Coleman, Marissa and Jackson, her great-granddaughter Kailor, her brother-in-law Ron (Eloise) Emanuelson and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Roy, sister and brother-in-law Gloria and Donald Kreuder, and by sisters-in-law Betty Wolff, Joline Alburg and Janet Cribbs.

Carol is fondly remembered as a devoted and caring mother, a warm and supportive grandmother and a treasured and fun-loving friend. Though she will be dearly missed, her love of life lives on in her family and friends. Carol’s lifelong example leaves us all with a treasure trove of memories of a life well-lived. In lieu of flowers, if desired, please donate in memory of Carol to the charity or cause of your personal preference. A memorial service and brunch will be held on Sunday, March 4th, at 1pm at the Jacaranda West Country Club in Venice, Florida for family and any friends who desire to remember Carol.
