Burton Lee Hiller, 75, a lifelong resident of White Mills, passed away on June 13, 2017 at Ellen Memorial Health Care Center. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Betty Ann McMillen on May 24, 2004. The couple married on October 6, 1984.

He was born on October 3, 1941 in Honesdale, the son of the late Willis W. and Louise Loveless Hiller. He attended Wallenpaupack High School until he was 16 and then began working at White Mills Handle Co. making baseball bats . He later worked at Chroma Tube until he retired.

He was a volunteer member of the White Mills Fire Co. where he enjoyed spending his time working with all the members preparing for so many functions to raise money to support the needs of the fire company. It meant a lot to him to be able to help his community in anyway he could. He also enjoyed his fishing trips to Canada with his wife and brothers every year.

He is survived by his brothers Thomas Hiller of White Mills, Gerald Hiller and wife Kay of Florida, Robert Hiller and wife JoAnn of Carbondale; sisters Joan Karnick and husband Peter of South Canaan, Jean Stephenson and husband Douglas of White Mills, Helen Griebel of White Mills, Rose Hicks and husband Ed of Honesdale, Barbara Brickler and husband Tom of Dalton, PA; sisters-in-law Elfriede Hiller of White Mills and Lorraine Hiller of Honesdale. Also surviving are his step-daughters Stephanie Stearns and Brenda Pittman and step-granddaughter Samantha McKane; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brothers Willis Hiller Jr. and Roland Hiller; his brother-in-law Kenneth Griebel; sister-in-law Mrs. Thomas Elizabeth Hiller and his step-grandson Dylan Meszler.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 25th at the White Mills Fire House for family and friends 1 to 4.
