Barbara Mary (Burkavage) Megivern, of Jamison, PA and formerly of Honesdale, died on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at her daughters home. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Joseph R. Megivern on December 23, 1997.

Born on June 12, 1933 in Cold Spings, PA, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Veronica Taninies Burkavage.

She grew up and worked in Honesdale, where she met the love of her life, Joseph. Together they moved to Bucks County, PA where they raised four daughters. Their example of true love was a blessing to all who knew them.

She enjoyed her family and grandchildren, visiting the Dollar Store, word search books, coloring, and watching General Hospital, Wheel of Fortune, and Jeopardy with her family.

She is survived by her children and grandchildren, Coleen Megivern Ryan and husband Michael and their children Luke, Matthew, Sierra, Hunter, Alyssa and Stephen Ross Jr.;
Erin Megivern Coleman and husband Mitch and their children Sara and Daniel;
Tara Megivern Fiorelli and husband John and their children Ayden and Devon;
Bridget Megivern Rodriguez and husband Edwin and their children Veronyca, Stephanie and Nataly.

She is also survived by many nieces and nephews who she dearly loved. Especially Annelle Miller Snyder and Steven Miller; her two sisters-in-law Catherine Jensen Liptak and Rita Burkavage. She was loved by many especially her surrogate daughter Barbara Cox and husband Dennis. Her faithful companion Mandi was always by her side.

She was preceded in death by her son Shawn Megivern.

Funeral services will be private at the convenience of her family. Arrangements by Hessling Funeral Home, Inc., 428 Main St. Honesdale, PA.
