Arthur Harry Rose (Bucky), 81, passed away peacefully at Wayne Memorial
Hospital in Honesdale, PA on July 31, 2017. He is united with his
childhood sweetheart, Susan, who he married in 1956 and missed dearly since
her passing on January 22, 2017.

Arthur was born to C. Arthur and Johanna (Smith) Rose on September 6, 1935
in Philadelphia. He was a graduate of Honesdale High School. After school
he served in the US Army for two years. His nickname, Bucky, was given to
him by a relative who called him Buckshot as a child.

Art was a devoted husband and father for over 60 years, with Susan by his
side. They raised five children in a loving home; Col. (Ret.) Michael S.
Rose, Sr and wife Judith of Renick, WV; David L.. Rose of Clark Summit, PA;
Timothy M. Rose who was called home to the Lord in 1997; Holly M. Hubert
and husband Kenneth of Honesdale, PA; Thomas A. Rose and wife Diane of
Oley, PA. Art and Susan were able to celebrate their 60th wedding
anniversary with their entire family for a week long celebration in June of
2016.

Art enjoyed watching his grandchildren and great grandchildren grow and
flourish no matter their ages. Grandchildren are; Michael S. Rose, Jr;
Brandi A. Corvigno; April A. Rose; Brittney L. Hubert; Kendra M, Hubert;
Mitchell K Hubert; Avery B. Rose; Caleb T. Rose; Ellie J. Rose. Great
grandchildren are; Victoria; Jaxon; Aleka; Elijah; Hugh; Jacob; and Aaron.

Art had a special place in his heart for Gretchen’s Grotto. Art could be
found there most days during the lunch hour. His presence will be greatly
missed.

Art was a Prudential Insurance Agent for 26 years before retiring in 1993. The
integrity that he brought to his professional life was the same he
instilled in his family; work hard, be honest and do the right thing for
other people.

As his children were involved with Honesdale High School sports, both he
and Susan were involved with Athletic Booster Club and held officer
positions. As his boys were involved with Scouting he held officer
positions with the local troop. For 20 plus years he spent time every week
in mediation and prayer with Perpetual Eucharist Adoration. He also was a
long time member of Lone Pine Rod and Gun Club.

He was a true leader of our family who made us laugh, created a wonderful
lifetime of memories for his entire family, taught us life lessons using
his wisdom through storytelling. The legacy he built will have impact on
our family for generations. He will remain in the hearts of those that he
touched deeply.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Project Linus, Wayne County,
PA chapter that Art’s daughter Holly coordinates. It would be a great honor
to spread love by offering handmade blankets to children who are sick,
traumatized or otherwise in need. Please make checks payable to Project
Linus, 160 Slish Road, Honesdale, PA 18431. Or donations to White Mills
Volunteer Ambulance 759 Texas Palmyra Honesdale, PA 18431 as they cared for
Susan and Art with dignity and respect.
